Brian Morton is the Driver’s License Specialist at the Hunsucker Legal Group and he also received the NCDD Appellate Advocacy Award. Mr. Morton joined the firm after spending most of his professional career with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety as Assistant General Counsel. In this capacity, Mr. Morton served as a DUI Hearing Officer, litigating DUI driver’s license issues on behalf of the state. Now, he uses his extensive knowledge and inside experience to protect and defend the driving rights of his clients.
A native Oklahoman, Mr. Morton graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Oklahoma before earning his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000. He began his law career as an Assistant District Attorney in Sallisaw, OK. He left the DA’s office and started his own criminal defense firm before serving as an educator in the Central Public School district.
In 2008, Mr. Morton accepted a position with the Department of Public Safety (DPS), where he conducted DUI administrative hearings and Motor Carrier Safety Enforcement hearings. He also represented the DPS on DUI-related license issues in district courts across Oklahoma as well as in front of the Oklahoma Supreme Court and Court of Civil Appeals.
Mr. Morton’s extensive experience as both criminal defense attorney and prosecutor gives him a distinct advantage in defending clients who are facing driver’s license suspensions or revocations as a result of DUI or APC charges.
